FOC 2012 - One Amazing Ride

NRC held its Freshmen Orientation Camp on the 21st of July 2012 for the AY 2012 - 2013. The aim of this camp is to introduce new students to NTU's motorcycle community, inculcate the importance of safe riding, and to familiarize them with important landmarks in the campus.

The day began with a talk conducted by our very own Road Safety Ambassador, NRC Business Manager Koh Wee Yong, on the topic of protecting oneself while on the road.

After that we proceeded from Nanyang House to various locations around the school, such as ADM, SSC, NIE and SRC. Showing the freshmen these locations familiarized them with NTU's campus, helping them to navigate around the school in the future.

We also visited NTU's Chinese Heritage Centre to learn more about NTU's history, since its beginnings when it was still known as Nanyang University back in 1955. The freshmen left enriched with the knowledge of NTU's formation.

After the ride around the school, we proceeded back to Nanyang House to distribute goodie bags to the participants. Each bag contained over $100 worth of merchandise, including 1L Bardahl engine oil, Vrooam! chain lube, Plug-N-Go, Monster armsocks, OGK helmet bag, Motor Culture Asia magazines, and our very own NTU Rider windbreaker.

Our top three prize winners walked away with an Aramusha Full-Face Helmet, 4L Bardahl Engine Oil, and a H-Pack bagpack.

The club would like to thank all participants for taking the time to join our camp.

We would also like to thank all our sponsors, Wing Yap Motor, JAD Global, Motovation, BPL,  Helmetboys, Future Scootering, and Chong Aik for providing us with many great items for our goodie bag.

See you around NTU!
